Holly Fearing is President of the Board of Directors for Willy Street Grocery Co-op, one of the largest natural food cooperatives in the U.S. She is a founding organizer of the Dane Cooperative Alliance, an organization serving as a collective resource and central voice for cooperative businesses in the Madison, WI area with the mission to grow the cooperative economy through marketing, outreach and education. Holly has worked with Summit Credit Union and more than 25 other local cooperatives over the last five years to help organize the Annual Co-op Connection event that brings a heightened awareness of individual cooperative businesses in the city, as well as the industry in general, to thousands of Madison’s citizens.
Holly works on cooperative-focused projects and presentations with national and local organizations including National Cooperative Business Association, Cooperative Network, UW Center for Cooperatives, Summit Credit Union, Filene, CUNA, and the Wisconsin CU League.
As Digital Media Strategist for CUNA Mutual Group, Holly manages the company’s social media channels, connecting with credit unions in a meaningful, genuine and helpful way through collaboration, information sharing and industry expertise. Holly became a Credit Union Development Educator (DE) in 2011. She was named Trailblazer 40 Below by the Credit Union Times in 2013.
Currently, she’s researching and studying the use of digital technologies to connect people and ideas to solve common challenges and help build a more just, equitable and sustainable economy.
